Residents in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood woke up to a troubling scene after several parked vehicles were vandalized before sunrise. Now, Surrey Police Service is asking the public to help identify two suspects believed to be responsible.
Nine Vehicles Targeted in Early Morning Incident
The incident happened at about 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, near 75 Avenue and 147A Street in Newton.
Police received reports that two people were actively smashing the windows of vehicles parked along the road. Officers responded quickly. However, the suspects left the area before police arrived.
When investigators examined the scene, they found that nine vehicles had suffered damage. Front, rear, and side windows were all broken during the incident.
CCTV Images Could Help Identify Suspects
As the investigation continues, Surrey Police Service has collected CCTV footage from the area. Investigators have also released still images in the hope that someone will recognize the individuals involved.
According to police, both suspects appear to be men with slim builds. They were dressed in dark clothing and were seen carrying clubs or bats, which were allegedly used to smash the vehicle windows.
Police Ask Witnesses to Come Forward
Investigators believe local residents and drivers may have information that could move the case forward. Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area or has CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the incident is encouraged to contact police.
Surrey Police Service is also asking anyone who recognizes the suspects shown in the released images to get in touch.
