A man suffered serious injuries after a stranger punched him near downtown Vancouver following an AC/DC concert at BC Place.

VANCOUVER — A man is recovering from serious injuries after a stranger attacked him near downtown Vancouver following the AC/DC concert at BC Place.
The incident happened just before midnight Thursday near Nelson and Richards streets.
Police say a couple was walking back to their hotel after the sold-out rock show when a man approached them from behind.
Then, without warning, he punched one of them in the face.
Victim Suffered Serious Head Injury
The blow knocked the victim to the ground. As a result, he hit his head on the pavement.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the attacker ran from the area. Police have not yet located him.
The attack appears to have been unprovoked, and police are treating it as a stranger assault.
Police Seek Witnesses
Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man between 20 and 35 years old. He has a medium build and was wearing fingerless gloves at the time.
Now, investigators are asking anyone who saw the incident or has information about the suspect to come forward.
For concertgoers leaving BC Place that night, the attack is a troubling reminder that a busy night out can take an unexpected turn.
