A 32-year-old man has died following a weapons-related incident in Thunder Bay’s south end over the weekend. Police were called to the 200 block of Pearl Street early Saturday, July 13, where they found the man suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Officers Respond to Early Morning Call

Thunder Bay Police Service responded to the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The area was quickly secured, and the investigation was turned over to the service’s Major Crimes Unit. Police have not confirmed the nature of the weapon involved or the circumstances that led to the fatal injuries.

Second-Degree Murder Charges Filed

In an update issued Sunday, July 14, police announced that three individuals—two men, aged 20 and 22, and a 45-year-old woman, all from Thunder Bay—have each been charged with second-degree murder.

In addition to the murder charge, the 22-year-old man faces charges for breaching probation and violating a firearms prohibition order.

Accused Remanded After First Court Appearance

All three accused appeared before a Thunder Bay court on Sunday and were remanded into custody. Their names have not been released at this stage. Further court appearances are expected this week as the investigation progresses.

Investigation Still Ongoing

Police have not provided additional details about the relationship between the suspects and the victim, or whether the incident was targeted. Investigators continue to gather evidence and are urging anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area to come forward.
