A North Vancouver man faces sexual exploitation and assault charges after a Richmond RCMP investigation into alleged offences from 2004 to 2008.

Long Investigation Leads to Charges Against North Vancouver Man

A Metro Vancouver man is facing charges after a lengthy police investigation into alleged sexual offences involving a youth more than two decades ago.

Richmond RCMP announced that a 53-year-old North Vancouver man has been charged with sexual exploitation and sexual assault. The case follows an investigation that began after a person reported the matter to police in September 2024.

Allegations Date Back More Than 20 Years

According to police, the alleged offences happened between 2004 and 2008. Investigators say the accused was in a position of trust or authority during that period.

However, police have not released details about the nature of that relationship or role.

The accused has been identified as Zahid Hassandeen Zade Nanji. The charges have not been proven in court, and the accused is considered innocent unless found guilty through the legal process.

RCMP Continue Search for Information

Meanwhile, Richmond RCMP are asking anyone with information related to the investigation to come forward.

Police say additional details from witnesses or people connected to the case could help support the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Richmond RCMP.

Community Reminded to Report Concerns

The investigation highlights the importance of reporting suspected abuse or exploitation, even when concerns involve events from many years ago.

In addition, police say information from the public can play an important role in uncovering allegations and supporting investigations involving vulnerable individuals.
