Tunnel to Close in Both Directions Overnight
The Ministry of Transportation and Transit has scheduled two full overnight closures of the George Massey Tunnel. The shutdowns will allow contractors to complete important maintenance work in both the northbound and southbound lanes.
As a result, traffic will not be able to pass through the tunnel during the closure periods.
The scheduled closures are:
- Friday, June 5, 2026: 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6
- Saturday, June 6, 2026: 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 7
