AutoCanada has sold three B.C. dealerships for $32.2 million as it sharpens its business focus and continues to streamline its operations.
AutoCanada Completes $32.2 Million Dealership Sale in B.C.
AutoCanada has wrapped up the sale of three British Columbia dealerships in a deal worth about $32.2 million. The move marks another step in the company’s plan to focus on stronger-performing markets and improve long-term returns.
The sale includes Island Chevrolet Buick GMC in Duncan, Abbotsford Volkswagen, and Chilliwack Volkswagen.
Company Focuses on Stronger Regional Markets
According to AutoCanada, the three dealerships sat outside its main regional clusters. As a result, they offered fewer opportunities to grow through shared operations and greater efficiency.
Because of that, the company decided to sell the locations and redirect its resources toward areas that better support its long-term business strategy.
CEO Says Strategy Drives the Decision
AutoCanada President and CEO Samuel Cochrane said the transaction reflects the company’s disciplined approach to investing its capital.
He explained that AutoCanada remains committed to holding assets that deliver strong long-term value. Therefore, the company will continue to review its portfolio and make changes whenever a dealership no longer meets its financial goals.
Sale Follows U.S. Exit Plans
The British Columbia transaction comes only weeks after AutoCanada completed the sale of an Illinois dealership in June. That sale formed part of the company’s broader plan to exit the U.S. market.
As a result, AutoCanada continues to simplify its business while placing greater attention on its Canadian operations.
AutoCanada Continues to Reshape Its Portfolio
AutoCanada currently operates 61 dealerships across eight Canadian provinces, alongside its remaining U.S. business interests. However, the company has made it clear that it will continue refining its dealership network to improve performance and strengthen shareholder value.
With the latest sale complete, AutoCanada has taken another step toward building a more focused and efficient business for the future.
