Vancouver’s new 10,000-seat Freedom Mobile Arch opens with Jann Arden, 200+ performers, FIFA Fan Festival, and summer concerts.

Vancouver Gets a Brand-New Stage Tonight

Vancouver is getting something big. And it is finally here. The new Freedom Mobile Arch opens tonight at the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), and the city is ready for a huge night. Also, excitement is high because this is not just any venue. Instead, it is a full celebration of music, culture, and community.

At the same time, the opening night will bring together thousands of people. And it will mark a new chapter for live entertainment in the city.

A Big Opening Night With Jann Arden

The show starts strong. First, Canadian star Jann Arden will headline the night. Then, more than 200 performers will take the stage.

Also, the opening is not only about music. Instead, it is a full variety show. It will include dance, comedy, storytelling, and live cultural moments. In addition, there will be an Indigenous cultural welcome to open the event in a meaningful way.

So, the night will feel big, bold, and full of energy. And it will keep moving from start to finish.

A Massive New Venue With Big Views

The Freedom Mobile Arch is huge. In fact, it can hold up to 10,000 people. And it offers wide views of the North Shore mountains. So, fans get both music and scenery at the same time.

Also, the design stands out. The venue features the longest timber clear-span roof in the world. Because of this, the space feels open and modern. And yet it still feels connected to nature.

Meanwhile, the Pacific National Exhibition says the venue will host events of all sizes. So, both small shows and large festivals will fit here.

Construction Was Not Easy

Even though the project is complete now, the build was tough. First, Vancouver City Council approved the plan in 2019. And then construction began.

However, challenges came up. During testing, engineers found about 60 times more water than expected in the ground. So, costs went up. And the work became more complex.

Still, PNE leadership stayed open with the city. Shelley Frost, the PNE President and CEO, said they kept council informed and supported throughout the process. And that helped the project move forward.

In total, the amphitheatre cost about $183 million. But now, it is ready to welcome crowds.

Big Summer Events Are Coming

The excitement does not stop with opening night. Instead, more events are already planned.

For example, the 2026 FIFA Fan Festival will take place this summer. It will be free and family-friendly. And it will show live FIFA matches on big screens.

Also, the Summer Nights Concert series will return. So, music fans will have many chances to enjoy live shows at the new venue.

Meanwhile, organizers expect artists from many genres to perform all year long. So, the calendar should stay full.

Tickets and What’s Next

Tickets for shows at the arch are already available. Fans can book them through TicketLeader.

So, if you want to go, it is easy to plan ahead. And because demand will likely be high, early booking makes sense.

In the end, Vancouver now has a major new concert space. And it is ready to bring big shows, big crowds, and big moments to the city.
