Vancouver Gears Up for Record-Breaking Convention

This July, Vancouver is set to make history as it hosts the 2025 International Convention (IC2025) for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)—the largest gathering the city has ever seen. From July 3 to July 6, tens of thousands will converge on BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre, shattering previous attendance records for local conventions.

International AA Convention Set to Draw Massive Crowds

IC2025 isn’t just any event. Held once every five years, this convention routinely attracts around 57,000 AA members from across the globe, along with 5,000 volunteers. For context, Vancouver’s previous largest conventions topped out at just under 15,000 attendees, making this summer’s gathering a true milestone for the city.

Celebrating Sobriety and Community

This year’s convention theme, “language of the heart,” promises a welcoming and supportive environment. Attendees can look forward to a packed schedule of meetings, workshops, dances, and the cherished traditional flag ceremony—all celebrating the 90th anniversary of the AA Fellowship.

Tickets and Event Details

Advance tickets have sold out, but regular admission is still available for $185 USD on the official website. The convention will take place at both BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre, adding to an already bustling summer in the city with cruise ship season and the FIFA World Cup on the horizon.

With record attendance expected, Vancouver’s summer is set to shine as it welcomes the world’s largest AA convention and celebrates a milestone in recovery and community.
