Surrey community groups can apply for funding to improve local life. Submit your project bids by June 15 for a chance to secure support.

New Funding Opportunity for Surrey Community Groups

Community groups in Surrey are being encouraged to apply for funding to support projects that will benefit local residents. Epsom and Ewell Borough Council is inviting organizations to submit bids for neighbourhood funds raised through the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), a fee paid by developers to help fund community improvements when new developments are built.

How the Funding Works

Last year, about £330,000 was distributed to projects such as footpath upgrades at Epsom’s Hogsmill Local Nature Reserve, tree planting on Waterloo Road, and a new clubhouse for community sports in Ewell. This year, the council hopes even more groups will take part and submit proposals for initiatives that can make a real difference in Epsom & Ewell.

Who Can Apply and What Projects Qualify?

Local community groups and organizations are eligible to apply. Projects should aim to improve the quality of life for residents, whether through environmental enhancements, recreational facilities, or other neighbourhood improvements. Councillor Peter O’Donovan, chair of the licensing and planning policy committee, emphasized that this fund is a chance to deliver projects that matter to local people.

Application Details and Deadline

Applications for this year’s funding round are open until June 15. Groups interested in applying should review the eligibility criteria and submit their proposals via the council’s official website. By applying, community organizations help ensure that funds from local development are invested in projects that residents value most.

Why Apply?

This is a unique opportunity for community groups to turn their ideas into reality and make a positive impact on their neighbourhoods. Successful projects in the past have improved green spaces, enhanced local amenities, and supported active, connected communities.

Do you have a project that could transform your neighbourhood? Don’t miss your chance-apply for funding and help shape the future of Epsom & Ewell before June 15!
