Vancouver Bandits launch 2025 CEBL season with two Surrey forwards, home opener May 22. Catch all games live on TSN+ and CEBL+.

Surrey Roots Fuel Bandits’ New Season

The Vancouver Bandits are set to tip off their 2025 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) campaign, spotlighting two standout forwards with Surrey connections. Six-foot-nine Majok Gum, fresh from a successful university run and a stint in Germany, joins the Bandits after earning defensive honors at Byrne Creek Secondary and Wilfrid Laurier University.
Alongside him is James Karnik, a Surrey-raised powerhouse known for his dynamic dunks and defensive grit, returning as one of the league’s top forwards.

Training Camp and Community Engagement

The Bandits’ training camp launched at Langley Events Centre, featuring a diverse 15-player roster: 11 Canadians, six from British Columbia, four Americans, and two CEBL Development Athletes.

Pre-season action includes a special charity matchup against the Sikh Warriors, with proceeds supporting the Bandits Community Foundation.

Season Opener and Key Dates

Vancouver’s season officially begins on May 15 on the road against the Saskatchewan Rattlers. The highly anticipated home opener is set for May 22, a rematch against the Niagara River Lions, echoing last year’s CEBL Final.

The Bandits will host 12 home games through August, with all matches broadcast live on TSN+, CEBL+, and other major platforms.

Leadership and Legacy

Head coach and GM Kyle Julius returns for his sixth season, aiming to build on the Bandits’ consistent postseason appearances and past finals runs in 2020 and 2024.

The franchise continues to cement its reputation as a CEBL contender, driven by local talent and strong community ties.

Catch the Bandits in action this summer and witness Surrey’s finest making their mark on Canada’s pro basketball stage.
