New Draw Brings Good News for PNP Candidates
The latest Express Entry draw targeting the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has opened fresh opportunities for immigration hopefuls. On August 6, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 225 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 739. This marks a significant 49-point drop from the last PNP draw on July 23, 2025, which saw 202 ITAs issued.
Just before this round, on July 22, IRCC held a category-based draw for healthcare and social services occupations, inviting 4,000 candidates with a CRS score of 475.
Draw Trends for 2025 and Past Years
So far in 2025, IRCC has conducted:
14 PNP draws
7 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws
3 French language proficiency draws
1 draw for education occupations
3 draws for healthcare and social services occupations
In 2024, the numbers reflected a diverse approach:
9 all-program draws
11 targeting French speakers
1 for transport jobs
1 for agriculture and agri-food occupations
3 for healthcare occupations
1 for STEM occupations
14 PNP draws
10 CEC draws
2 for trade occupations
Over the years, ITA numbers have shifted. In 2025, Canada has already issued 49,628 ITAs. This follows 98,903 in 2024, 110,266 in 2023, and 45,115 in 2022. The highest record remains 114,431 ITAs issued in 2021, all to CEC and PNP candidates, surpassing the 107,350 record set in 2020.
What This Draw Means for Candidates
This August 6 draw marks the 28th round of invitations in 2025 and the 358th overall since the program began. Successful candidates now have 60 days to submit complete applications, which IRCC typically processes within six months.
For those aiming for an ITA in upcoming draws, securing a valid job offer remains one of the most reliable pathways to success. An approved offer can significantly boost CRS scores, increasing the chance of selection.
