Get ready to celebrate Earth Day like never before at Surrey’s annual Party for the Planet festival this Saturday, April 26!

Surrey’s Party for the Planet returns for its 14th year on April 26, and it’s promising to be B.C.’s largest Earth Day celebration yet. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Surrey Civic Plaza will transform into a sustainable paradise for all ages. With free admission, you can enjoy live music, dance battles, a rock-climbing wall, and much more – all while celebrating our planet and learning ways to make it greener.

Fun and Sustainability Go Hand-in-Hand

Surrey’s iconic Earth Day festival is packed with entertainment, environmental education, and a host of interactive activities. Whether you’re rock climbing, shopping at the sustainable marketplace with 25+ vendors, or enjoying a plant sale with native varieties at affordable prices, there’s something for everyone.

This year, the festival is TD Bank Group-sponsored and promises an exciting lineup, including:

  • Live music and dance battles across four stages
  • Craft stations for creative minds
  • Family-friendly performances
  • Science World demos and Urban Safari Rescue Society exhibitions
  • Eco-conscious food trucks (with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options)

Don’t miss out on the bike-powered smoothies or the fun of painting a wooden salmon to raise awareness for local salmon habitats through the Salmon Habitat Restoration Program (SHARP).

Local Food and Sustainability

Festivalgoers can enjoy a variety of delicious food from local food trucks such as Aloha Poke, Chickpea, La Sella Pizza, and Mom’s Grilled Cheese, with some providing plant-based and gluten-free options.

Surrey’s Salmon Habitat Restoration Program will celebrate its 30th anniversary with the interactive Paint a Salmon attraction, helping attendees connect with local eco-projects.

Mayor Brenda Locke’s Vision

Mayor Brenda Locke encourages residents to attend, calling it a “wonderful opportunity” to gather as a community and reflect on how we can all contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. “We hope to inspire residents to embrace eco-friendly practices to cultivate a brighter future for our community and our planet.”

Join Surrey’s Party for the Planet this Saturday, and be part of the fun while learning how we can all make a difference for our environment!
