Conagra’s Bold Step Toward Cleaner Ingredients

Conagra Brands, known for household names like Birds Eye, Healthy Choice, and Marie Callender’s, has announced that all certified Food, Drug & Cosmetic (FD&C) colors will disappear from its U.S. frozen foods by the end of this year. That means by 2025, you can expect every frozen meal from Conagra to be completely free of synthetic dyes.

But that’s not all—Conagra is also phasing out FD&C colors from products sold to K-12 schools by the start of the 2026-2027 school year. By the end of 2027, the company plans to eliminate these dyes from its entire U.S. retail portfolio.
