Man convicted in 2024 attack on AP Dhillon’s BC home ordered deported from Canada after arson and gunfire incident, IRB confirms.

Deportation Ordered After Violent Attack on AP Dhillon’s Home

A Serious Immigration Ruling Comes Down

First and foremost, a man linked to a violent attack on the British Columbia home of AP Dhillon has now been ordered deported from Canada. Moreover, the decision was confirmed by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada on Monday.

In addition, officials ruled that the individual is inadmissible under Canadian immigration law. Specifically, the ruling points to organized criminality, which carries strict consequences under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. As a result, the deportation order now moves forward.

What Happened in the 2024 Incident

Meanwhile, the case stems from a shocking event that took place on September 2, 2024, in Colwood, British Columbia. During that incident, attackers fired shots at Dhillon’s residence. Furthermore, two vehicles were set on fire outside the property.

Thankfully, no one suffered physical injuries. However, the attack caused significant fear and damage in the neighbourhood. Moreover, the incident quickly drew national attention due to Dhillon’s public profile.

Conviction and Prison Sentence

Then, authorities arrested Abjeet Singh Kingra in Ontario in October 2024. Afterward, he faced court proceedings that led to a conviction for arson and firearms offences.

Consequently, he received a six-year prison sentence. In addition, police confirmed that a second suspect remains at large, and the investigation is still active.

Immigration Decision and What Happens Next

Now, following the conviction, immigration officials moved quickly. Therefore, the Immigration and Refugee Board determined that Kingra cannot remain in Canada. Moreover, the ruling sets the stage for his removal from the country once legal requirements are completed.

Finally, authorities continue to monitor the broader case. Meanwhile, law enforcement efforts remain focused on locating the outstanding suspect connected to the attack.

The post Man Deported After Shooting at AP Dhillon BC Home first appeared on Maple News Wire.

Targeted Shooting Damages Surrey Home, No Injuries Reported

Residents of a Surrey neighbourhood woke up to a frightening scene after gunfire struck a home early Thursday morning.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. However, the incident has sparked a police investigation as officers work to uncover who was behind the shooting and why the property was targeted.

Gunfire Reported in Surrey Neighbourhood

The Surrey Police Service responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of 96 Avenue and 133A Street at approximately 6:07 a.m. on Thursday.

When officers arrived, they discovered damage to the outside of a residence caused by gunfire. At the time of the shooting, people were inside the home.

Fortunately, everyone escaped unharmed.

Police Investigating Possible Targeted Attack

Investigators have not yet determined a motive. However, early evidence suggests the shooting was not random.

Police believe the incident was targeted, although they have not released details about potential suspects or circumstances that may have led to the attack.

As the investigation continues, officers are gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses in the area.

Authorities Seek Public Assistance

Meanwhile, investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Police are especially interested in hearing from residents or drivers who may have security camera footage, dashcam video, or other evidence from the area around the time of the shooting.

Anyone who can assist is encouraged to contact the Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502 and reference file number 26-58932.

Investigation Continues

For now, many questions remain unanswered. Nevertheless, police continue to examine the evidence as they work to identify those responsible.

While the shooting caused property damage, the fact that no one suffered injuries comes as a significant relief for the home’s occupants and the surrounding community.

Three Men Sentenced After Surrey Extortion-Linked Shooting

SURREY, B.C. — Three men have been sentenced to prison after admitting their roles in an extortion-related shooting that shook a Surrey neighbourhood earlier this year.

The Surrey Police Service announced that all three accused pleaded guilty in connection with a shooting that took place near Crescent Beach in February. The case moved quickly through the courts, resulting in significant jail terms for each offender.

Guilty Pleas Lead to Prison Sentences

Nineteen-year-old Taranveer Singh received a five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to reckless discharge of a firearm.

Meanwhile, 21-year-olds Dayajeet Singh and Harjot Singh were sentenced for throwing an explosive substance. Dayajeet Singh received 27 months in prison, while Harjot Singh was handed a 25-month sentence.

The guilty pleas were entered in Surrey Provincial Court on Tuesday.

Shooting Happened During Police Patrol

The incident unfolded during the early morning hours of Feb. 1, 2026, in the area of Crescent Road and 132 Street.

At the time, officers from the Surrey Police Service’s major crime section and the anti-extortion unit, known as Project Assurance, were actively patrolling the neighbourhood. Then, gunshots rang out near a residence close to Crescent Beach.

As a result, officers responded immediately and began searching for those involved.

Suspects Arrested Soon After Incident

Police say the three suspects were located and arrested shortly after the shooting. Investigators found them not far from the scene, allowing authorities to move quickly with the case.

Because officers were already in the area conducting anti-extortion patrols, the response was swift. Consequently, investigators were able to gather evidence and advance the case without delay.

Ongoing Focus on Extortion Investigations

The case highlights the continued efforts of Surrey police to address extortion-related crimes across the region. Project Assurance was created to combat these offences and support investigations connected to threats, violence, and intimidation.

With the guilty pleas now entered and sentences imposed, the criminal proceedings against the three men have reached a significant conclusion.

Police continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activity as authorities work to curb extortion-related violence in Surrey and surrounding communities.

First, on the morning of June 9, 2026, at about 10:44 a.m., a shooting took place in South Newton in Surrey. Specifically, it happened near 66 Avenue and 129 Street. Also, witnesses reported that one person in a vehicle fired shots at another vehicle. Then, both vehicles quickly left the area.

Meanwhile, the situation created fear in the neighbourhood. Moreover, police later confirmed that nearby homes were hit by gunfire. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Police Arrive and Secure the Area

Next, officers from the Surrey Police Service responded quickly. As a result, they secured the scene and checked for victims. Additionally, they confirmed that at least two homes suffered damage from the bullets.

However, no injuries were reported, and this helped ease immediate concerns. Still, officers treated the scene as serious and active.

Investigation Takes Shape

After that, investigators began working on the case. Furthermore, the situation was handed over to the Major Crime Section. In addition, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services started collecting both physical and digital evidence.

Meanwhile, police said the motive is not clear yet. However, they believe the shooting was targeted. Importantly, they do not believe it is linked to extortion. So, investigators continue to explore other possibilities.

Freda Fong of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team stated that the incident has devastated two families. In the same way, she stressed that young lives were lost far too soon.

Police Link Shooting to Gang Violence

First, officers from the Surrey Police Service responded to reports of gunfire in an underground parking lot in the 7000-block of 133B Street around 10 p.m. on Sunday. Then, they discovered both victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

After that, investigators quickly classified the shooting as targeted. Moreover, police believe it is connected to ongoing gang activity in the area. Consequently, the case is now part of a wider homicide investigation.

Burned Car Found After the Attack

Shortly after the shooting, firefighters reported a grey four-door sedan engulfed in flames near 144 Street and 84 Avenue. Additionally, investigators believe this vehicle played a role in the killings.

Furthermore, police are now asking the public for help. For example, they are requesting dash-camera footage from both locations. In the same vein, any small detail could help move the investigation forward.

City Leaders Respond to Rising Violence

Meanwhile, concern continues to grow in the community. Brenda Locke called the recent wave of violence “unacceptable and deeply troubling.” Moreover, she highlighted that three people have recently died, while two others remain in critical condition.

In addition, she has asked the Surrey Police Board to review a recent decision involving the redeployment of gang unit members. Therefore, public pressure for stronger action is increasing.

Investigation Continues as Families Seek Answers

Finally, police are working closely with the victims’ families. In particular, they are trying to understand what the teens were doing before the shooting. Meanwhile, investigators continue to gather evidence from the scene and nearby areas.

Overall, the investigation remains active. As a result, police urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.

The post Surrey Double Shooting: Two Teens Killed in Gang Probe first appeared on Maple News Wire.

A man was killed in a late-night shooting in Surrey, B.C., in what police believe was a targeted attack. IHIT has taken over the investigation.

Late-Night Incident Under Investigation

A man was fatally shot late Friday night in Surrey, B.C., prompting a major police response. The shooting occurred around 11:40 p.m. near the 10400 block of 152 Street, where officers arrived to find the victim with critical injuries. Despite emergency efforts, he died at the scene.

Details From Responding Officers

According to the Surrey Police Service (SPS), frontline officers were dispatched after multiple reports of gunfire in the busy Guildford area. Upon arrival, they secured the scene and called for additional support as evidence suggested a targeted attack rather than a random act.

Investigation Led by IHIT

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken control of the case, marking Surrey’s sixth homicide of the year. Investigators say early findings point to a targeted shooting, and the incident is not believed to be linked to extortion. However, the motive remains unclear as detectives continue to gather information.

Coordinated Police Effort

IHIT is now working alongside the Surrey Police Service and the RCMP’s Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit to conduct priority investigative tasks. Police say the investigation is in its early stages, and officers continue to canvass the neighbourhood for witnesses and surveillance footage.

Appeal for Public Assistance

Authorities are asking residents or businesses with security cameras in the area to review their footage from Friday night. Anyone with information or video evidence is urged to contact IHIT as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the fatal shooting.

One person was hospitalized after a shooting in Surrey Sunday night, and two SPS officers were injured in a separate collision while responding.

Surrey Shooting Sends One Person to Hospital; Police Officers Injured in Related Crash

Gunfire Reported Outside Surrey Home

A person was reportedly taken to hospital after shots were fired outside a home in Surrey on Sunday night, prompting a significant police response. The gunfire was reported around 9:10 p.m. on Nov. 23 in the 12100-block of 101B Avenue, where first responders found evidence of a shooting. The individual believed to have been injured was transported to hospital with suspected gunshot wounds, according to information from a freelance photographer at the scene. Police are working to confirm who was involved, what led to the shooting, and why the gunfire occurred.

Street Closed as Officers Investigate the Scene

Officers quickly closed the road and set up police tape to preserve the scene while investigators collected evidence. The area remained restricted to determine where the shots originated, how the incident unfolded, and whether the shooting was targeted. Police have not announced any arrests or suspects, and the motive remains under investigation as officers continue gathering statements and reviewing physical evidence.

SPS Cruiser Involved in Collision While Responding

At roughly the same time as the shooting response, an SPS cruiser was involved in a separate collision in the 12500-block of 96 Avenue. A photographer at the scene initially reported that the police vehicle appeared to have T-boned another car. However, Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton clarified Monday that the marked SPS SUV, travelling with lights and sirens activated, was struck by another vehicle while officers were responding to the shooting call. The two officers inside the cruiser sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Collision Investigation Continues

The two occupants of the civilian vehicle involved in the crash were not injured, police confirmed. The collision is now under active investigation as authorities review how the vehicles made contact and what led to the impact. Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted while the damaged police SUV was examined and removed.

Further Police Updates Expected

SPS says it expects to release additional information regarding the shooting later Monday morning as investigators confirm the extent of the victim’s injuries and assess potential suspects or motives. Authorities continue piecing together the sequence of events to understand how the shooting occurred and how the police response led to the secondary collision.
