Whether you’re planning a visit to Canada’s capital or the bustling Lower Mainland of B.C., there’s exciting news on the hotel front! Two major hotel brands are adding new options for travelers in Ottawa and Surrey, B.C., promising elevated experiences and top-notch amenities in both cities.
Ottawa Welcomes the AC Hotel by Marriott
Opening its doors on April 24, the AC Hotel by Marriott Ottawa Downtown is the latest addition to Ottawa’s vibrant hospitality scene. Located on Rideau Street, the 159-room hotel offers modern and sophisticated accommodations perfect for both business and leisure travelers.
This brand-new hotel features a range of impressive amenities, including a gym, sauna, pool, and versatile meeting rooms designed for productivity. The AC Kitchen, where guests can enjoy breakfast, provides a cozy spot to start the day before heading out to explore the capital.

We’ve curated every element to create a refreshing, productive, and inspiring visit, and we’re proud to bring this elevated hospitality experience to Ottawa.”
But that’s not all—Ottawa’s hotel landscape is rapidly expanding. Also in the Marriott portfolio are the Moxy Ottawa, slated to open in early 2026, and the Renaissance Hotel, set for a 2027 debut. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Ottawa, located at the Rideau Carleton Raceway, is also set to open this year, offering a unique fusion of luxury accommodation and entertainment, including 150 rooms, an expanded casino floor, and an 1,800-seat Hard Rock Live theatre.
Surrey, B.C. Gets a Boost with Homewood Suites by Hilton
Meanwhile, on the West Coast, Surrey, B.C. is seeing its own boost in hospitality offerings. With the demand for hotel rooms continuously rising in this thriving city, the Homewood Suites by Hilton is set to open soon, adding 189 new rooms to the growing Health and Technology district.
Situated in the City Centre 4 building, Homewood Suites will occupy the top nine floors, offering a mix of studio and one-bedroom suites, perfect for long stays. Each suite features separate living and sleeping areas, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, ideal for travelers who want to enjoy home-like comforts during their stay.
Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke expressed her enthusiasm for the new hotel, stating, “Surrey is on the cusp of a transformative journey, and the addition of Homewood Suites by Hilton is a vital step in our evolution as a leading economic hub. This partnership not only enhances our hospitality offerings but also underscores Surrey’s appeal to businesses and visitors alike.”
