Canada Day Turns Tragic in Surrey

What started as a day of celebration quickly turned serious in Surrey on Canada Day. Just after 4 p.m., a car crash at the busy intersection of 120th Street and 97th Avenue left three people injured and sent emergency crews rushing to the scene.

Quick Response Saves Lives

First responders arrived swiftly, providing immediate care to those involved. One person suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Two others, thankfully, sustained only minor injuries and also received hospital care.

Cause Still Unknown

At this time, Surrey Police have not released details about what led to the collision. Investigators are working to piece together the events that caused the crash, and updates are expected as more information becomes available.

Roads Reopen After Brief Closure

The accident forced a temporary closure of the area late Tuesday, but by Wednesday morning, traffic was moving again and the intersection had reopened. Police are encouraging anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward and assist with the investigation.

Stay Safe and Alert

As the community reflects on this unfortunate incident, it’s a reminder to stay cautious on the roads—especially during busy holidays. Surrey Police continue to investigate and will share updates as they learn more.
